Things people ask us about.
Is your milk pasteurized?
Yes — vat pasteurized right here at the farm: 145°F for 30 minutes, instead of the 200°F-for-a-few-seconds flash method big creameries use. The gentler heat leaves more of the milk's natural enzymes and a fuller flavor — which is why it still tastes like milk.
What makes your milk different from the store?
It's bottled here the same day it leaves our cows — vat pasteurized low and slow, and never homogenized, so it actually tastes like milk. No co-op, no blending, no long supply chain. Just local milk from one family farm.
Is the cream supposed to be on top?
Yes. The milk is non-homogenized — the cream rises naturally. Shake the bottle a few times before you pour.
Are you open on holidays?
Most of them. Hours can shift around Thanksgiving and Christmas — check our Facebook page before driving out.
Do you ship milk?
No. Glass-bottled milk doesn't travel well, and shipping cold breaks the math. Come visit instead — we're just outside Hillsboro in Helvetia.
Can I bring my kids? Can I bring my dog?
Kids, yes — they love seeing the herd. Dogs, please leave them at home. The cows have opinions.
